As of the 2022 holiday season, we will not be taking international orders. Every holiday we encounter package losses that has caused our clients and ourselves frustration with in-country postal support. Once the New Year has passed, we'll revisit to see if the interest is there. If you are interested, please send us an email to support@3RedRovers.com with your interest in ordering from us and where you are located. We hope you can understand.

If applicable, please make sure to verify your pet's size for each individual item. And, if it's for a puppy, please order up. They usually outgrow items before it even arrives. Click here for Size Guides

Martingale Shearling-Lined Tan Leather Collar

Bridle leather is a wonderful leather used in the equestrian trade. We use it for our Shearling-Lined Martingale Collars because of its strength, durability, comfort, and beauty. Auburn Leathercrafters Shearling-Lined Martingale Dog Collars are popular with owners of Greyhounds, Whippets, Afghans, Dobermans, and similar breeds because they lessen the pressure of the collar on the dog’s trachea.

Shearling-Lined Leather Martingale Collars are appropriate for training but are equally useful as an easy-on, easy-off collar for everyday use.

Colors available: Tan, Black, Burgundy, Pink

Sizes:

  • 1-1/4″ x 10″, 12″
  • 1-3/4″ x 14″, 16″
  • 2-1/2″ x 18″, 20″, 22″, 24″, 26″

When measuring your dog for a martingale collar, keep in mind that the collar will need to be able to slip over your dog’s head, since it doesn’t have a buckle.

First, measure the widest part of your dog’s head. Next, measure your dog’s neck as you would for a standard, buckle-style collar. Use the larger of the two measurements. Please refer to the following chart for general guidelines.

Fully Closed to Fully Open Adjustment Ranges: NOTE THAT THE COLLAR SHOULD FIT SNUGGLY OVER THE DOG’S HEAD so that your dog cannot easily back out of the collar.

These guidelines are meant to help assist in attaining a proper fitting collar. If you need further assistance, please feel free to contact us, and we will be happy to assist you with your specific needs.

    Measuring your dog

Generally, the most accurate way to determine your dog's collar size is by measuring your dog's neck. Measure at the narrowest point of your dog’s neck, just as tight or loose as you would like the new collar to fit.

The collar should be snug, without being so tight that it will cause discomfort or loose enough to slide over your dog’s head.

As a rule of thumb, a well-fitting collar should leave just enough room for you to slide two fingers between the collar and your dog’s neck.

    Measuring your current collar

If you are satisfied with the fit of your dog’s current buckle collar, you can measure the collar itself to get a new collar that fits the same.

Measure from the buckle's center bar, where it connects to the collar, to the hole that you are currently using.

    Bridle Leather Care:

Quality full-grain bridle leathers are some of the most durable leathers available. If wet or soiled, leather should be allowed to air dry. (Never dry your collar or leash in direct heat!) Once dry, gently clean using a damp cloth.

To nourish and help repel dirt and oils, treat the leather with a light coating of a product such Leather BriteTM conditioner or a neutral-colored leather balm. Apply according to the product's instructions.
